We're taking a little break
Ranglebox has been operating in one form or another for over 11 years. I, Ellis, created it in my late teens and I have mostly single-handedly kept the business operating, sometimes only very quietly but still shipping orders, ever since. We've only ever been small, but that's a long time.
2024 was Ranglebox' best year ever, by any metric, with lots of motivation for new products and growth whilst getting incredible support from customers. Our Mars products launched particularly well, which was very exciting, but it exposed that this once bedroom-based business needed some serious efficiency improvements to continue scaling.
2025 has been harder for many reasons and it hasn't materialised as predicted. Global conditions have changed such that maintaining stock of 2024's additions has been very difficult, or impossible in some cases. My personal circumstances are always changing, and in truth, I have struggled to balance responsibilities, ambition and motivation.
Rather than letting the website splutter into eternally low stock and slow email responses, I am taking a decision I think I have needed to make for a while. Ranglebox is going to be put on ice. Not closed or done, but paused whilst I navigate the start of 2026.
This is so that I can experience life without the ambient responsibility level that comes with running a small online store. I have forgotten what that feels like. I am incredibly grateful for all orders, with some particularly loyal repeat customers, and I owe it to everyone to manage this pro-actively and figure things out under control.
I don't know what's next. I still absolutely love a lot about Ranglebox, and it's a huge part of my DNA. The gearmotors in my brain never stop spinning new plates. In practical terms, we still have quite a lot of stock to home. I'm not done, but I do need a break. If you urgently need support, please email sales@ranglebox.com. Otherwise, it's a very Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, or any other season's greeting from us, and best wishes for 2026 :)
